At times, most of us experience the changes in season. Some would welcome it though it may come with something that one least expects.

This is with regards to possible allergies which could affect the eyes, nose or even the skin. When that does happen, tendency is for one to head on to the nearest doctor or specialist to get some form of medication to ease the irritation and remedy it. Going through an allergy is a pretty uncomfortable state though milder ones could be addressed in natural ways.

For the people who are unaware, there are plenty of things you can do at home to address mild allergic reactions. Here are some of them as enumerated via ABC News:

  1. Neti Pots. For the ones caught up in some sinus-related allergy, Neti Pots could be the solution for you. All it needs is a mix of salt and warm water which poured on to one nostril. This is a form of treatment which should help free up the nasal cavity with some saline solution which will eventually flush out the allergens and loosen the mucus.
  2. Saline Spray. Neti Pots could be neat but its handiness could be a problem. Hence, Saline Sprays could be a good alternative, something that can help apply Saline solutions gently and evenly to attend to sinus-based problems.
  3. Honey. Consuming honey hardly seems to be a good way to address allergies though the fact that they are made by bees themselves could somehow help address the irritations brought about by pollen. It is a theoretical belief with no science to explain it. But if the method works then why not try it?
  4. HEPA filters. People who get irritated by the air from their surroundings could try making use of these air filters which were meant to purify the air in confined spaces. They are normally used to help allude moisture originating from the air and the floor to help eliminate the buildup of mold and mildew. A more effective way is seen from the use of HEPA filters if it is incorporated in a home’s ventilation system.
  5. Herbs and Supplements. Medication is the easiest way to treat allergies but while you are at it, leaning more on natural herbs and supplements could be better than doctor-prescribed ones. Plant extracts like butterbur have proven to be effective, one of the best to reduce air inflammation. There is also bromelain, an enzyme found in pineapples which could help reduce swelling and improve breathing.
  6. Take a shower. One of the simplest things that people can probably do is to take a shower. A hot shower should help address sinus issues, clearing nasal passages but only on a temporary basis. It can also help rinse off allergens tied up with a person’s hair and skin, preventing them from spreading on the things around you.
  7. Eucalyptus Oil. For some, aromatherapy could be a good way to address allergies and eucalyptus should help free up the nasal passages. Oil extracted from the leaves of an eucalyptus tree can render menthol-like sensation which should help make breathing easier.
