It is perhaps a very personal question to ask someone about the number of people they have slept with. Is it ok to disclose this information? People in a serious relationship often tend to reveal the actual number. As per the researchers, ten is claimed to be an ideal number of lovers for both men and women. The most popular number lies between 8-12 chosen by 38% women and 37% men. Within the group of both men and women, 10 was the number that sounded just perfect, "neither too hot nor too cold", as reported by Independent

Over 1,000 people participated in an online survey conducted for British extra-marital dating site, IllicitEncouters.com. Both men and women were asked how many lovers would they want their new lover to have had. According to the poll, those who had more than 10 were considered as promiscuous and under 10 were treated as sexually inexperienced. The survey results also pointed out that anything more than 20 would be a big turn-off for both men and women. When it was about disclosing such personal information, 35% women said that they would want to know the sexual history of their partner while only 30% men agreed to it, says Independent

Christian Grant, a spokesman for IllicitEncounters.com, said: "The dating game is changing so quickly. "I think we are all becoming a lot more tolerant and sexually adventurous. "If we had conducted this poll ten years ago, men would have expected a potential partner to have slept with far fewer people," The Independent reports.
