WhatsApp Will Soon Have its very Own Virtual Assistant

Hackathon 2015 in London has created what is said to be the first of its kind personal assistant on the popular chat platform, WhatsApp. The Tech Crunch Disrupt team calls its WhatsBot, the assistant that utilizes the location data, artificial intelligence and Esri mapping data to help you find places where you can meet your friends, family or colleagues. It is very simple to use this assistant. All you need to do is, add the WhatsBot number to your WhatsApp contact list. After that, you can use this bot in a group chat to suggest you a meeting place that is convenient to all the participants depending upon their current location, reports Tech Crunch.

To allow WhatsBot to gather the data of the nearest meeting location, the user has to acknowledge their own location first. The coordinates are then mapped by Esri to come up with a location that will be suggested in a group chat immediately. The main job of WhatsBot is to suggest possible meeting locations. However, another interesting feature is when the Bot reacts to curses warning the user that the parents will be informed if they do not stop with the cuss words. Just by saving the WhatsBot number in their contact list will make this feature available on the WhatsApp group chat, according to Latino Post.

The founders who created the WhatsBot are all users of this app and were motivated to create an app because of all the traveling that they do. They said that creating WhatsBot has helped them meet more easily. Becerril said, "We spend so much time on WhatsApp, we thought it would be cool to have more services." The creators of the bot were keen on solving the problems associated with location. In fact, they have also created an app previously that is also based on travel for the long distance couples. It won the second position in the last year's hackathon, says Tech Crunch.
