Sparing only a few minutes and reserving them for simple kinds of mental exercises can not only revamp your spiritual health, but can make you super affectionate toward others.

A profound, meticulous 7-minute meditation can actually add in feelings of kindness and affection making you less racist, biased and discriminatory towards other individuals of altered groups and races.

Known as the LKM, the loving-kindness meditation is a Buddhist run-through which aims at constructing the feelings of fondness and thoughtfulness for oneself and as a result, for others.

An interesting research kicked off at the University of Sussex, which claims that a mere simple technique can halt the outlooks of negativity and welcome optimistic, hopeful aspects making an individual not only vigorous, but an epitome of kind-heartedness and compassion.

Daily Mail quotes that according to the lead researcher, Alexander Stell, a doctoral student in psychology, 'This indicates that some meditation techniques are about much more than feeling good, and might be an important tool for enhancing inter-group harmony.'

The research accumulated 71 white, non-meditating personalities who were offered snaps of black people. The participants were exposed to a tape with certain recommendations regarding the mental exercise and they were also asked to scan the photos mentally and describe their opinions regarding them. Using the Implicit Association Test participants matched negative and positive words with faces either of their own group or of the other group. They concluded that participants had the tendency to associate negative characteristics with the group other than their origin and vice versa.

In a nutshell, the fallouts demonstrated that individuals who were exposed to the 7 minute meditation tape were prone to less bias thinking towards the other group, meaning they showed less signs of racial biasness, however, in the other case, individuals showed no shrunk feelings of racial biasness when they were asked to react to the respective snaps.

The practice, therefore, is much more than an exercise. Lowering down depression and anxiety, the practice allows an individual to eradicate illnesses such as high blood pressure, insomnia and respiratory diseases, LKM is also responsible for adding in the feelings of group harmony and tranquility.

With a daily 7 minute session, an individual can fight and battle with routine maladies and be more affectionate towards people around them.
