'The X-Files' Season 11 Set For 10 New Episodes In 2018, Mulder And Scully To Reunite With Lone Gunmen

People are already looking forward to the next season of "The X-Files" for several reasons. Fans are eager to find out just what happened to Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in the last moments of the previous season finale. Luckily, Fox has every intention to come up with "The X-Files" Season 11 and this time, there will be more episodes instead of just six.

In addition to that, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson's duo are expected to be reunited with conspiracy theorists, The Lone Gunmen, in "The X-Files" Season 11. It's hard to deny that many were disappointed when it was announced that the tenth season of "The X-Files" would only be a mini-series consisting of six episodes.

Fox is set to change things up in "The X-Files" Season 11, which could produce 10 new episodes with Mulder and Scully. Could most of these episodes feature the ever-loyal Lone Gunmen, who always helped the agents with their supernatural cases in the past? Fox Chairman Dana Walden has previously spoken about making sure "The X-Files" Season 11 would be longer, as long as everyone's schedule allows it.

Walden admitted that the previous season was shortened drastically because David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and creator/writer Chris Carter were unable to commit for more episodes. Nevertheless, the Fox CEO is optimistic that the network can produce at least 8 to 10 episodes for "The X-Files" Season 11. But would any of them feature a reunion between Mulder and Scully and The Lone Gunmen?

The Lone Gunmen have always been an important part of "The X-Files", especially since they have played a large role in helping Mulder and Scully in the past 10 seasons. Although the conspiracy theorists have since starred in their own spinoff series, fans are hopeful that they will be back in "The X-Files" Season 11. The series is set to return to Fox in 2018.
