Samsung Galaxy S8 Latest News & Update: 'Bixby' Confirmed for Flagship, Voice-Activated Payment Teased

Samsung is expected to rebound in the coming months with the Samsung Galaxy S8 under a lot of pressure. Features will of course make the next flagship something to watch, including a much rumored AI assistant called “Bixby”. The inclusion of the digital assistant will reportedly aid as well in the facilitation of payments, particularly the Samsung Pay Mini option.

As mentioned in a previous post, “Bixby” will be one of the high points for the Samsung Galaxy S8. It will be fairly similar (if not better) than Apple’s patented Siri which should come in handy for functionalities of the upcoming device. It was also mentioned in that previous report that a female version named “Kelstra” was being planned so it will be interesting if eventual owners will get the option to select their preferred AI.

Equally interesting is how Samsung plans to integrate “Bixby” into the Samsung Pay Mini. The integration process of the said AI will reportedly be part of the next Samsung Pay Beta build, Galaxy Club reported. With details scarce, the immediate thing that comes to mind is hearing people vocally telling their device to send or make payments to a particular person or group.

With no news on when Samsung Pay will actually be released, the best bet is for it to debut alongside the Samsung Galaxy S8. The next flagship phone is widely anticipated to come out at the scheduled unpacked event happening before the Mobile World Congress next month.

Production will reportedly go full steam by March, meaning the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will likely become available starting April. While it seems like a delay on the part of the Korean giant, the said month is actually the usual time when new flagships are delivered to customers. Such is the case for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S5 as reported by Forbes.
