With "The Vampire Diaries" set to return for its final nine episodes, fans are excited to see how the show will end. It is shaping up to be an emotional farewell for both the fans and the cast.

According to recent reports, a Klaus-Hayley reunion is on the verge of happening. Fans might remember that Joseph Morgan (the actor who plays Klaus Mikaelson) left the show to spend more time filming "The Originals".

Klaus' return to "The Originals" Season 4 will result to a reunion with Hayley Marshall-Kenner (Phoebe Tonkin). The reunion, albeit happening on a different show, is one of the things fans look forward to. Reports say that this Klaus-Hayley reunion will revolve around their daughter, Hope (played by Summer Fontana).

It is still unconfirmed whether or not Nina Dobrev is actually returning to The Vampire Diaries. On the other hand, Tyler Lockwood had already made his come back to Mystic Falls this upcoming season.

The website Screener TV has listed some of the beloved characters from the show whom fans would want to see again. Amongst the people on the list are the following:

Jeremy Gilbert. Played by Stephen R. McQueen, fans are hoping to see Jeremy return just in time to see his sister wake up (if she ever does).

Kai Parker. Sources say that actor Chris Wood was spotted in Atlanta recently. If this is the case, it is highly possible that the actor was filming for "The Vampire Diaries". Kai could be the one to wake Elene up, fans would be happy to see that.

Katherine. If Elena isn't waking up, fans would be happy to see Nina Dobrev again, even if it'sin the form of Katherine. Fans are very much looking forward to a farewell scene for Katherine.

Other characters on the list include Elena (Nina Dobrev), Aunt Jenna (Sara Canning) and The Originals. While none of these characters' return was confirmed, fans are hoping some (or all) of them could happen.
