"Vikings" Season 4 can only have one Queen and Lagertha made it clear that she is the rightful owner of the crown. The recent episode of the historical TV drama highlighted Aslaug's death in the hands of Ragnar's former wife. "Vikings" star Alyssa Sutherland who portrays the role of Aslaug spilled some scoops about her character's death and what she had to say can be found below.

Actress Sutherland revealed that she already had an idea that her character is going to die soon. However, she had little idea on how her death will be played off. "I think she knows exactly what's going to happen to her. What's left is how," the actress told ET Online.

Sutherland also expressed how she was grateful that Aslaug received closure from Ragnar just before she met her end. It can be recalled that the legendary Viking ruler was unusually kind with Aslaug in the earlier episode. As per Sutherland, her final scenes with Ragnar was one of her favorites as she knows that what Aslaug wanted is for the King to be tender to her.

Moreover, the actress revealed that she didn't expect that she would be able to stay on the show because fans reportedly despise her role. "Coming in as someone who upset some fans, and knowing how people felt about Aslaug and how they had put Aslaug in this position of 'she's done all this horrible stuff to Lagertha,' I really didn't think she'd last very long at all," Sutherland told IGN.

For a quick recap on what transpired between Lagertha and Aslaug, both ladies fell in love with Ragnar on Season 1 of "Vikings." Lagertha was the King's first love but after experiencing a miscarriage, Ragnar went on a journey to Uppsala where he met Aslaug. The two got smitten with each other and the female seer got pregnant with the King's child.

When Lagertha found out about Aslaug's pregnancy, Ragnar proposed to keep them both as his wives but the idea was not pleasing to Lagertha. She chose to leave the King and took their son Bjorn with her. However, after years of keeping her grudges, Lagertha returned to Kattegat to reclaim her throne.
