NBA Trade Rumors: Lakers' Julius Randle And Luol Deng Moved To Orlando Magic For Serge Ibaka And Jeff Green?

The 2016-17 season of the NBA is not much old and already teams are mulling changes, if rumors are to be believed. According to latest ones doing the rounds, two Los Angeles Lakers forwards Julius Randle and Luol Deng are moved to Orlando Magic. Their places are to be filled up by Serge Ibaka and Jeff Green, said NBA rumors, according to Parent Herald.

The Lakers, who have won three games on the trot after losing three back-to-back ones (won 4, lost 3 at the moment) have done decently under a new coach in Luke Walton who took over earlier this year. Yet, they have decided to keep the option of trading players open. Randle, 21, a promising power forward who started with the Lakers two years ago, was always thought to be the man with who the movement could start for the Lakers to better their standings.

Reporting about the scenario, Inquistr said that it is not clear whether the NBA would allow such a deal to go through since Deng and Green will not be eligible for a trade till December 15 because of signing of new contracts in summer this year. Besides, the salaries of the two pairs who could be exchanged also have a big disparity and that could also see the trade not happening ultimately.

Nevertheless, if the Lakers' plan to get the 6-foot-10 Ibaka in exchange of Randle doesn't materialize, they will try to make it up by bringing the man as a free agent next summer, added Parent Herald.

Whether the pairs are really traded or not is for time to tell and if it indeed happens, it will be interesting to see how they fit into their new teams.

There are also questions whether Ibaka can really be a wise replacement for Randle (whom coach Walton calls "monster") for the former is already a finished player while the latter is still improving, reported Parent Herald. Will it really be an upgrading?

Orland Magic are currently ranked ninth in the Eastern Conference with three wins and four losses, just the reverse of the Lakers' record so far.
