There is a constant buzz that 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13 might show the door to Alex Karev (Justin Chambers). Several hints have been dropped in Season 13 episodes to suggest that Karev will be leaving the hospital-drama show.

iDigitaltimes noted that in Episode 16 of 'Grey's Anatomy,' board member of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, Katherine Avery was seen coaxing Miranda Bailey, Hospital Chief, to fire Karev. In the episode, Karev was reported to have attacked a doctor for which felony charges were levied against him.Avery warned Bailey that if necessary actions were not taken against Karev for the same, then she might have to step in herself and do the job of firing him. This has led to the rumor that Karev will be indeed fired from the hospital as a way of exit for him from the show.

Another clue was dropped in form of a tensed conversation Karev had with Meredith in her bed. In the said event, when Meredith asked how the court proceeding went, Karev replied it was fine and then out of the blue, he said, "I wanna waffle Sundays. Every Sunday, I want to do waffles- all of us like a family. For as long as we can." The veracity behind these hints are yet to be confirmed by Chambers and the showrunner Shonda Rhimes.

Further, there were rumors that Chambers would be replaced by Christina Yang as many expected her character Sandra Oh to return in Season 13 of 'Grey's Anatomy.' However, it has been revealed that Tessa Ferrer, who plays Leah Murphy will be the additional cast member joining in the hospital-drama.

Meanwhile, Ellen Pompeo has expressed time and again how much she'd love the real-life couple, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan to join in 'Grey's Anatomy.' Around February this year, Pompeo even tweeted Rhimes, "4 episode 300 can we have @channingtatum as a firefighter who rescues @taylorswift13 @jennadewan dressed as cats? Girls, are u in?"

No confirmation has been reported yet on casting the celebrity couple in 'Grey's Anatomy' however.
