The latest "Stranger Things" season 2 spoilers have hinted that new characters will be introduced as its release date has been set in 2017.

How could these new faces possibly affect the plot of the second season?

According to Hollywood Reporter, three new roles are expected to give life to the characters named Max, Roman, and Billy.

In an interview, the Netflix supernatural horror-science fiction series' executive producer, Shawn Levy, disclosed some exciting details of "Stranger Things" season 2.

"There's definitely a handful of really compelling new characters this season, but absolutely servicing the core group first and foremost," he said. "Like the show itself, it's multigenerational new characters and really, really intriguing ones."

He also noted that these new additions to the cast are of different ages.

Based on the character details gathered by the entertainment site, Max, who is going to be a series regular is said to be a "tough and confident 13-year-old female whose appearance, behavior and pursuits are more typical of boys than of girls in the era."

Meanwhile, Roman, another expected new series regular, is going to be "a male or a female of any ethnicity between the ages of 30 and 38."

The last new cast member joining "Stranger Things" season 2, according to spoilers, is Billy, "a super muscular, overconfident 17-year-old. He's so captivating and edgy that there are rumors flying around that he killed someone at a school he attended in the past."

In the meantime, Variety disclosed that the upcoming season is set to run with nine episodes, slightly longer than the first season's eight.

It was noted that the Duffer brothers, Matt and Ross, will remain as its writers and executive producers along with Shawn Levy and Dawn Cohen.

Keep posted for more spoilers before Winona Ryder reprises her first major television role in "Stranger Things" season 2.
