While, Samsung is currently celebrating the success of the recently released Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones, rumors about what the smartphone maker has in store for the future has already started spreading around.

It is speculated that Samsung might roll out a new Galaxy S7 sibling soon. Tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks) recently posted an image of the Gold color variant of the rumored Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, calling the color "desert camo," reported IBTimes.

Recently, a post on GFXBench showed specifications for the upcoming Samsung S7 Active, dubbed SM-G891A. It is rumored that the new Samsung Galaxy S7 Active model will retain some features from the Galaxy S7 and feature a 5.5-inch display and 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.

The handset will be powered by quad-core Snapdragon 820 CPU clocked at 2.1GHz and come with 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage capacity. The device is rumored to ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS pre-installed, according to Softpedia.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will have a 12MP rear camera and 5MP front camera with auto-focus and face detection. As expected, the handset will include NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS connectivity.

It is expected that the upcoming model will come with IP68 certification which means the device will be both dust-proof and water-resistant for up to 30 minutes in up to a meter of water.

According to the leaked image, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active will be launched on June 10. We would advise our readers to take the information with a grain of salt as Samsung is yet to announce the official Galaxy S7 Active release date.

In related news, the smartphone maker has announced it will offer an exclusive Gear VR content package to new Galaxy S7 and S7 edge customers. This means the customers will be able to buy the Samsung Gear VR headset for a discounted price, alongside a free bundle of games.

Some of the games to be included in the package are Anshar Wars 2, Darknet, Drift, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, Ocean Rift and Starchart.

"Our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are performing extremely well, demonstrating continued strong demand for our premium flagship devices," David Lowes, chief marketing officer at Samsung Electronics Europe, said, reported ITPro.

"The smartphone is already so fundamental to our lives but connecting it with a product like the Gear VR opens up incredible new experiences that are often as emotional as they are immersive. With this new incentive, we're encouraging broader VR adoption so that more people can experience this amazing new technology for themselves."
