During the 1950s to 1960s, American actress Marilyn Monroe was known for her beauty and her acting skills. Even though Monroe died young, her legacy remained in the entertainment industry till this very day, and will most likely last for years to come. Now, people might get to learn more about this major sex symbol. According to auctioneers, Monroe's medical files, which include her cosmetic surgery procedures, will be available in an auction next month.

"Rumors regarding Marilyn Monroe's plastic surgery continue to astonish the media and public," commented Julien's Auctions located in Hollywood according to Medical Xpress.

The auction revealed that the files that will be auctioned include many X-rays alongside several doctors' notations. Some of these files revealed other medical data that did not involve cosmetic surgery. For example, five years before her death in 1962 at the age of 36, medical data revealed that Monroe had an ectopic pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy is when a pregnancy occurs outside of the womb. She also had a bout of neutropenia in 1956.

"[Her procedures have] long remained a mystery. Because her looks were so natural, it was hard for many to believe the reports that in 1950 Monroe had undergone her first plastic surgery," the auction house stated. "[The files] clear any doubt of Monroe's early plastic surgery procedures and cast new details on the actual procedures that would transform [Monroe] during a time when plastic surgery was not a popular procedure."

The auction house also revealed that Monroe used many different aliases during her doctor visits. One of these aliases is believed to be Marilyn Miller. Even though the files will not be available for another month, the action house provided more details about Monroe's medical history. According to the auctioneers, in 1958, Monroe sought the help of Dr. Michael Gurdin for her "chin deformity." Her complaint stemmed from the fact that in 1950, she received a cartilage implant in her chin, which has since started to dissolve. When she received this implant, the data revealed that she also had a tip rhinoplasty, which modified her nose.

The very last medical entry in the file is dated June 7, 1962. Monroe had used the alias Joan Newman during her medical visit to treat a fall. The file stated that she suffered a fall in the middle of the night and had swelling and tenderness of the nose. The X-rays revealed her nasal bones and teeth.

The auction will be held on November 10 at Julien's Auction's premises in Beverly Hills.
