"Prison Break" Season 5 is back after nine years - with a twist. Michael (Wentworth Miller) is alive, though he was believed to have died when the last season finale was aired. Meanwhile, Dominic Purcell gets candid about his equations with Miller.

"Prison Break" Season 5 Latest Updates

When "Prison Break" Season 5 started, Miller said: "I died seven years ago." The character then speaks about freedom and how his brother Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) discovers that he may be alive and is behind the bars in Yemen, Mirror UK reported.

Michael's actual end features in a television special titled "The Final Break". It begins with him getting married to Sara. But Sara gets arrested on the wedding day and is imprisoned for charges of a murder she committed to save Michael's life.

Eventually, he manages to get inside the prison and helps Sara to escape the jail while he gets stuck. There is a locked door that gets them trapped. Moreover, Michael's key card stops working.

Though the scenes in "Prison Break" gave a feel that he gets electrocuted and killed, it now appears that he did not get killed on screen. After all, viewers just saw an explosion. It is possible that he did not die due to the power surge and simply got stunned.

It is plausible that the government or The Company discovered him. And now it seems that Michael has been in a jail in Yemen ever since.

"Prison Break" Season 5 Stars Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller

Purcell told TV Insider that they were in touch during all these years through emails. He added that while everyone is aware of their closeness, that does not mean they have to see one another every day.

Miller said that working in the "Prison Break" series was similar to riding a bike, except that they are now 10 years older. "Prison Break" Season 5 airs Tuesdays on Fox.
