The new third-generation smartwatch will adopt a new display technology. It won't reportedly use the same touch panels  like the previous Apple watch design. The Apple Watch Series 3 is a new glass-film touchscreen from Biel Crystal or General Interface Solutions.

The Apple Company revealed that they are not happy with their current glass manufacturer, which is TPK Holdings. The said company came across issues in dealing with the curved surface of the Apple Watch, which was a difficulty in the manufacturing process of the touch sensor, according to Digital Trends.

A report in Chinese came out last month about the alleged third generation Apple Watch, which is expected to be announced in the third quarter of 2017. For the meantime, there were two leaked improvements to the Apple Watch Series 3. It is said that the battery life efficiency of the Apple Watch Series 3 will be longer and its feature performance has improvements. The reports said that this wearable device will be manufactured by Quanta Computer, per Mac Rumors.

A lot of people are expecting that the Apple Watch Series 3 has a new major design. Sadly, this will not happen this year. The Apple Watch has stayed with a four-cornered form factor. Those who are expecting for a round Apple Watch may have wait a little longer.

Apple Watch Series 3 Expected Release Date

The upcoming release date reports for the Apple Watch Series 3 will land at some point on the third quarter of this year. Maybe it could even possibly launch alongside with the iPhone 8. As of now, there are no price reports for this watch but most likely, it will be the same or higher than the Apple Watch 2.
