Following the official explanation on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 exploding battery issue, the focus right now is on the Samsung Galaxy S8. The anticipated flagship is expected to come out by April, a bit delayed, which may likely be part of the Korean giant’s damage control strategy.

As most know, Samsung has its work cut out for them following the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 mess, USA Today reported. Such has resulted in huge losses which beg to ask the future of the phablet line. It turns out that one defective version will not stop Samsung from coming out a Samsung Galaxy Note 8, something assured by company president Koh Dong-Jin, via Sam Mobile. According to him, there will be a new phablet and it will come later this year which could be August – the time when the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 came out.

Seeing, however, the catastrophe of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, delaying the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 would be understandable. The last thing that Samsung would want is another big issue that could very well put the Samsung Galaxy Note line’s credibility and existence in shallow waters. By now, however, Samsung may have learned its lesson and the best thing to do is apply it for the next phablet.

But what can folks expect for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8? Samsung is not expected to slow down in offering high-end specs for as long as the battery can hold everything up. Among the suggested features included 4K display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset (835 at the least), 6 GB of RAM, a hyped “Bixby” assistant, S-Pen Stylus and some other stuff the fallen Samsung Galaxy Note 7 may have carried (i.e. Iris Scanner, flexible storage, dual camera setup), CNet reported.

The lineup of specs for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expectedly minimal at this point. With all eyes on the Samsung Galaxy S8, the important thing is that there is a new phablet coming – hopefully, impressive and safe for the consumer market.
