The market is filled with plenty of notebooks to choose from and Acer happens to be one of the familiar models to check out. For those planning to get one catered to withstand ruggedness, the Acer TravelMate Spin B1 may be worth waiting for.

The Acer TravelMate Spin B1 is categorized as an entry notebook which both students and business professionals may find interesting. It does veer away from the traditional slim models now popular in the consumer electronics market, armed with a rubber support typical for rugged laptops. For interface, a Chiclet-style keyboard is present addressing potential liquid spills. Acer calls it a “unique gutter system” that sounds sensible and capped by an impact-resistant touch screen for a trouble-free interface, Slash Gear reported.

Speaking of screens, the Acer TravelMate Spin B1 is convertible. This means users can easily rotate the screen when needed. Standard usage modes include a laptop, stand, tent, and tablet, offering business and educational folks flexible and protected presentations or media entertainment when called for. Though there are other devices offering something similar, the stylus and support for Windows Ink broadens the possibilities with the latest device from Acer.

Other notable specs for the Acer TravelMate Spin B1 include a battery that can last for up to 13 hours. This will likely vary, depending on what users will do with it. Regardless and with reference to the rugged make, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see the notebook armed with a bulky battery to support that battery longevity claim. Acer revealed the laptop at CES 2017, a Chromebook built for heavy use.

The Acer TravelMate Spin B1 is an 11.6-inch laptop running on Windows 10 Pro that boasts of the same transformability the Microsoft Surface Pro series has been known for. Internally, the notebook comes powered by an Intel Pentium SoC, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and SD card reader. It comes with USB 3.0 and 3.0 ports, HDMI and the traditional wireless and Bluetooth connectivity options, CNet reported. It is expected to come out by the second quarter of 2017.
