Looks like fans of Jessica Jones will have to wait a bit longer for season 2 is slated not sooner than 2018. Jessica Jones Season 2 air date is slated for release somewhere in 2018 and will include over three main villains, as per MNG.

This season, all episodes will be dealt with by female directors and producers. You can also look forward to Luke Cage making his big comeback. Apart from their crime fighting adventures, the two will also share the spotlight with a new character, Misty Knight, played by Simone Missick.

According to the leaked image taken on the set of the Netflix series, Jessica and Misty weren't off to a good start. Misty could be seen pointing her gun at Jessica, ready to shoot at the slightest provocation. However, they are both connected to Luke Cage, which could be their common ground on becoming allies.

In an interview with Variety, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg confirmed at the Transforming Hollywood 7 conference in October that season 2 will indeed bring in two strong-willed and intelligent female characters on the series. However, Rosenberg declined to reveal the specifics of the storyline of Marvel's Jessica Jones Season 2. But she revealed that they are still in the middle of completing the scripts for the upcoming season. Episode filming will start sometime next year.

For those who aren't very familiar with Misty's character, she also has her own private investigating firm. Her arm is blown off when a bomb explodes. It is later replaced by a bionic arm courtesy of Iron Man. She picks up the pieces and realizes she might as well put her robotic extension to good use by fighting crime, just like what Jessica Jones does.
