How To Gain Root Access For The LG V20? XDA Developers Help In Rooting The V20

The LG V20 came out this year, and many are calling it the new flagship, against the already trademark LG G5. If you are an LG power user currently using the LG V20 and were wishing for a little more power to do tasks, the new root for V20 has got you covered.

LG V20 wasn't as much marketed as the other flagships of the same generation, but it has created a niche for itself, with the developer community taking an interest into the smartphone. Recently the unlocked version of the V20 went up for preorder and it was only natural that the developers at XDA would come up with tweaking tools for the behemoth.

Rooting the device voids warranty, and this has stopped many a user from not rooting their phones. The rooting can also involve some risks, as it can remove the phone's working memory dump thereby causing stalls in the processing cycles. Even then if there are some users who are willing to risk it all for increased capabilities of the phone, can rely on XDA for help. Rooting enables users to improve their device's stability and performance of the system applications.

Folks who have already decided to root the device can head to XDA Developers forum and read the instructions to acquire the root access.

For the root access, you have to install TWRP on the smartphone. You can then use TWRP to flash SuperSU. SuperSU is a super user access tool and this enables the user to control SU rights access to "no trespassing" areas of the device. These areas are only available for modifications via a root.

The solution offered by XDA for rooting the V20 seems to be stable and many users have reported it to be working perfectly well with their devices now rooted.

The new flagship from the company has all the bells and whistles, including a 5.7-inch QHD display, 4GBs of RAM, 16MP camera, a Snapdragon 820 processor and an 8MP front shooter. It also has a decent 3200 mAh battery and comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
