Fans will be disappointed to know that 'The Originals' Season 4 will not air until 2017. The exact date has not been announced yet, but the upcoming Season 4 is expected to premier in late January or early February, Bustle reported.

'The Originals' was moved to midseason this year, which might have impacted and delayed the premier of Season 4. However, the executive producer of the show, Julie Plec has assured fans that the midseason start actually works in the favor of the production. It gives the timeline solely for the series alone which otherwise had got tangled with its sister series, 'Vampire Diaries.'

"When they shifted the air date, it actually gave us the freedom, weirdly, to shift the timeline in our favor so that we could have more time pass in 'The Originals' between seasons than the 'Vampire Diaries,'" said Julie Plec in an interview with TVLine.

It has been revealed that Season 4 of 'The Originals' will have a five-year jump from the last season.'The Originals' make a comeback with its fourth season after a hiatus of five years from its last season. Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) toddler daughter Hope Mikaelson is grown up to be a chatty 7-year-old child with mega powers and lot of questions- particularly about her father, who's currently trapped and incapacitated from the curse of Tunde Blade in Season 4. 'Mom, are we going to get my day?' she's heard asking her mother in a special trailer released of Season 4. Fans are rooting for Hope to turn out to be a strong vampire who just might be the one to save Klaus from Tunde Blade in the new season.

Meanwhile, in a report from Fab Newz, Caroline Forbes ( Candice Accola), of 'The Vampire Diaries' may be the one instead to save Klaus from Tunde Blade in Season 4. 

Rumored to be the final season, 'The Originals' Season 4 might have Klaus die in it. While the Mikaelson family is expected to meet new villians in Season 4, Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev) may be the cause of Klaus' death.
