'Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Rumors, Spoilers and Update: Elena Not Gonna Wake Up For Season Finale?
The clock is ticking and fans can't wait until the airing of The Vampire Diaries Season 8, especially since they claim this is their final season. Fans are eager to know if Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev) will indeed be reunited with the entire crew as they plan to end with a bang.
Then again, there's been no official announcement yet as to whether or not Dobrev will return for the final season. She and Somerhalder do not want to work together anymore, as Celeb Dirty Laundry reported. But just in case she will return, which role will she portray? The goody two shoes Elena? Or the badass Katherine Pierce?
There is, however, a major catch. It's a known fact that Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) will have to die first if Elena is to wake up. But since Graham already stated that she's going to call it quits after season 8 and if season 8 is indeed the last season, then it's virtually impossible for Elena to wake up at this time. Don't you think?
Give Them Happy Before They Do Misery
TVLine got to talk with writer and executive producer Julie Plec about what we make of Caroline Forbes' character. Will she and Stefan finally find true love in each other's arms? Plec says that the truest and saddest rule of TV is that there's really no drama in happiness. But then there's always an exception to the rule, and she likes Stefan and Caroline to experience some happiness and reprieve before they deal with some gut-wrenching issues with their families and friends.
Another speculation is that Katherine will indeed return in order to save Damon from the 'creature' and take back whatever good that's left in him. The possibility of Stefan and Katherine getting back together seems unlikely, but then again, fans will just have to wait and see. Tune in what happens next when the final season premieres on Oct. 21 at 8/7c on The CW.
