5 Ways to Push Yourself to Exercise

At the start of a new exercise routine, you might feel excited and motivated to work out and change your health for the better. However, as days go by and your body starts to feel sore, working out might not be on the top of your list. Here are five tips that can help you push yourself to exercise, especially on days when exercise feels like the last thing you want to do.

1. Drink a cup of coffee

Coffee can give your body the jolt it needs to workout. The next time you plan on working out, have a cup of coffee first and tell yourself that the coffee will energize your for your workout. Several studies have found that drinking before a workout can help you last longer.

2. Plan a reward

Planning a small reward can help get you through a work out. If you are a TV person, think about watching an episode of your favorite show after the workout. If you are not a TV person, try another incentive such as shopping.

3. Schedule a workout session or date

If you schedule a workout with a class or with a friend, chances are you will not back out on it. When scheduling a class, pick one that you think you will have fun in, this way you can be excited for the class. If you are planning a workout date with a friend, pick a friend that will push you.

4. Listen to your playlist

Take the time to pick songs that will really get your body moving. The right kind of music that gets you energized can make a huge difference.

5. Buy new workout clothes

For those of you who like to workout in gear, buying new workout clothes can be the extra push that gets you to the gym.
