Lena Dunham Health Scare Update: "I'm Much Healthier Than I Was A Year Ago."

Dunham, who just attended the 2017 Met Gala, felt some complications from the fifth endometriosis surgery. She then posted about the aftermath of the check-up, Page Six reports. The actress assured thousands of her Instagram followers.

"Thank you for all the love & concern that's been pouring in since Tuesday," she said. "Although I'm much healthier than I was a year ago, complications arose from my most recent endometriosis surgery."

The 30-year-old TV star shared a selfie, while she lies on a hospital bed. It also featured a customized black-and-red gingham gown from designer Elizabeth Kennedy. It hints on why she only had a short appearance at the star-studded event.

Dunham's health scare is the newest update, since her endometriosis procedure last month. She recently had her fifth one this year.

Lena Dunham Speaks On Planned Parenthood

Prior to her hospital visit, Dunham was also scheduled to attend a Planned Parenthood gala the next day. It was actually for the 100th year anniversary of the organization. Her parents and other well-known personalities appeared at the gathering.

Dunham took the opportunity to promote the advocacy, despite her absence. She also talked about the status of healthcare for women and transgenders. Dunham felt that those who are part of the "privileged spot" are also responsible as well.

Dunham elaborated on how strong all women are to overcome hardships, including having a condition. She said in the post, "I also want to remind all the women suffering from a chronic illness that we aren't weak - quite the opposite, actually."

"Girls" Creator Defends FOX Reporter

Dunham ended her post with the topic of Diana Falzone's removal at FOX. She pointed out that the network lost a great woman in the end. Dunham said, "Everyone who's anyone knows that if you can battle chronic illness there's nothing you can't take on."

As of now, Falzone has sued FOX over their actions. Stay tuned for more updates about Lena Dunham's health scare and her advocacy.
