In the latest "Days Of Our Lives" updates, a well-known TV actress is going back to her soap opera roots. She will reprise her role as Sami Brady in the next few months. Read on for more details.
Alison Sweeney Makes Her "Days Of Our Lives" Comeback
The 40-year-old actress played the role of Sami since 1993. The show introduced her character as the resident bad girl of Salem. Fans know Sami for her manipulative ways and her failed relationship with several male characters.
During her stint, she won numerous awards and nominations for her performance. Sweeney left the show in 2013 after playing the said role for 21 years. However, she made a special participation during the 50th anniversary of "Days Of Our Lives."
According to Soaps Digest, Sweeney will join the series for a two-month production in May and June. It was after she had a knee injury that hindered her from following her original schedule. Fortunately for "DOOL," she actually gave some time for some shoots.
“From my end, it takes a little bit of logistics with projects I’m working on,” Sweeny told Soap Opera Digest. The star also teased about her upcoming comeback on Instagram, which you can check out below.
Alison Sweeney's Career Post-"Days Of Our Lives" Exit
Since she left, Sweeney still pursued a career in the industry by taking on several projects. She even had the chance to portray Sami again for "Lasy Week Tonight With John Oliver," TV Line reported. In 2015, Sweeney and James Scott made a reunion clip for a teenage Syrian refugee, who learned English from the series.
Sweeney starred in various made-for-TV movies for Lifetime, including the "Murder, She Baked" franchise. The TV actress also took the role as the longtime host for "The Biggest Loser" from season 4 until season 13.
