Showrunner Sam Esmail has been quite liberal with hints on what viewers can expect from "Mr. Robot" Season 3. He has recently shared that Mr. Robot, played by Christian Slater will be seen in the upcoming season.

"Mr. Robot" Season 3: Elliot's Battle Against His Hallucinations

Viewers will remember that in season 2, Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) tried his best to purge his imaginary father. Though the main protagonist tried hard to get rid of the hallucinations he suffered from, he was not successful. Rather, it seemed that his father became an integral part of him.

Elliot continues perceiving Edward as his father-figure, which has been debilitating him quite a lot, Christian Post reported. "Mr. Robot" Season 3 could showcase how he tries to come out of his delusions. Though, it could be a long and strenuous journey, Krista's support may make sure that he is able to get success this time around.

While speaking to Deadline, Esmail mentioned, "That's what Eliot has to do: see that vision of the future he wants that's worth going through all of this for. Not only does he want to live and continue, but he realizes that fighting Mr Robot is a moot point and an impasse."

There is no doubt that the candid revelations made by the showrunner are good news for Christian Slater fans. They can now relax, learning that he will be seen reprising his role in the upcoming season.

Esmail also added that the show showcases Eliot's emotional journey. When the character was first introduced in season 1, fans will remember that his mental state was such, that life was entirely meaningless.

The showrunner also explained that a person who has such a debilitating mental condition can go into severe depression. It hits so much that it reaches a paralysis point, isolating the patient completely.

"Mr. Robot" Season 3 is slated to premiere in a May or June this year. However, its release date is yet to be formally confirmed.
