Dentists Refuse To Work On Mom's Teeth Because Of Facial Birthmark

A mother was embarrassed to smile with her mouth was full of rotten teeth because dentists were hesitant and refused to treat her for 30 years. This was all because of her facial birthmark.

Jamie Henley, a 37-year-old mother of three from Forney, Texas, was born with Port Wine Stain. It covered half of her face, neck, chest and back.

Jamie has not been treated since she was 8-years-old as numerous dentists feared that they might burst a blood vessel if they worked on her. They found it was too risky as an operation might kill her.

According to Daily Mail, lack of treatment eroded her gums and filled her mouth with chronic abscesses which can be fatal. Additionally, it caused her to be conscious of smiling.

It also resulted in migraines and sight problems, as she is legally blind through her left eye, where her birthmark goes through. She underwent eye surgery at the age of 11.

In her twenties she had bottom lip reconstruction and regularly gets laser surgery three to four times a week to keep her PWS healthy.

She searched everywhere for a dentist who can help her with her condition. She went to New York two years ago to a conference and met with others with Port Wine Stain.

That made her emotional "To see people have the same problem as you and understand you was indescribable," Jaime said.

Luckily she was connected to a dental specialist through some friends in the conference. Last October she went back to New York to see the dentist who was very willing to help her.  According to Mirror, Jaime must raise $6,000 to cover the trip cost, root canals, extractions and implants. This will complete her dental work and give her a new smile.
