'Justice League' News & Update: Ben Affleck On Why Film Will Feature an 'Older & Wiser' Batman

When "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was released last year, most audiences were dumbfounded. The film was built up to be one awesome hero versus hero film, but the acclaim went to "Captain America: Civil War" instead. It seemed that "Batman v Superman" failed to deliver what it promised because it was too busy brooding over its personal issues.

This year's "Justice League" is here to undo the mess that "Batman v Superman" did, and that's partly because the film will feature an "older and wiser" Batman. While Ben Affleck is out and about promoting his latest film, "Live by Night," he's also fielding questions about "Justice League" and how Batman is now that he's gotta round up a crew. The Wrap reports that 44-year old actor explained how "Justice League" Batman differs from "Dawn of Justice" Batman.

Affleck admitted that while "Dawn of Justice' Batman was "pretty pissed off," viewers will get to see a new Bruce Wayne come "Justice League." Affleck explained that the teamwork in "Justice League" will offer up some "team dynamic" and "dramatic possibility" which seemed like it wasn't present in "Batman v Superman." In addition, the actor explained that the upcoming film will show a hero (Batman) who has had experience and not someone who is just getting into the superhero game.

Thus, the Batman in "Justice League" will be "older and wiser" than previous iterations of the character. Contrary to previous reports that there is no script yet for "The Batman," Affleck says that they are in fact already working on the script. Comic Book reports that as per the actor, the scriptwriters are taking their time in coming up with the right story, but he is optimistic about the outcome of it.

He also admitted that there is a pressure in rolling out such superhero films, but says that he will not release "The Batman" until it is ready. That's alright, however, as "Justice League" arrives to theaters this November 16. To find out just how different the film is from "Batman v Superman," check out the teaser below.
