Tetsuya Nomura gave fans an advance Christmas gift when he sent out a holiday message and update about the "Kingdom Hearts franchise last week. Although the video is quite short, the "Kingdom Hearts" director covered most of the details that fans would love to hear from him. So did he finally reveal the official release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3?"

Tetsuya Nomura revealed that he wasn't aware that he will be giving a holiday message to the fans of "Kingdom Hearts." He pointed out that his hair is always messy so he had to put on a cap, giving a glimpse of the director's humor. Other than complaining about his looks, Tetsuya Nomura did talk about the "Kingdom Hearts" franchise. He noted that "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" is finally launching early this year, right after the New Year festivities are over.

Tetsuya Nomura also revealed that 2017 will mark "Kingdom Hearts" 15th anniversary. With that said, many believed that they will celebrate this milestone with a bang and may launch "Kingdom Hearts 3" this year as well. Tetsuya Nomura talked about the much-awaited "Kingdom Hearts" concert, and even mentioned the development of "Kingdom Hearts Unchained X." However, he didn't say anything about "Kingdom Hearts 3."

The "Kingdom Hearts" HD remakes will be released before "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue." After its launch on Jan. 24, 2017, "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix" and "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix" will be available for the PS4 on March 31. As for "Kingdom Hearts 3," the "KH 3" trailer noted that the game is still currently in development. There is no word on the release date yet.

The "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix will have "Kingdom Hearts Final Mix," "Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories," and "Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days." The "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix," on the other hand," will have "Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix," "Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix," and "Kingdom Hearts Re:coded."
