Ridley Scott has finally welcomed Prometheus into the Alien universe through its sequel, "Alien: Covenant". Alien: Covenant has been reported to bridge the gap between the original Alien movie and Prometheus.

Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant. Prometheus was originally intended to be a direct sequel but instead ended up as a story that precedes Alien but not directly connected to it. Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant will now connect all films together.

Alien: Covenant brings back Michael Fassbender as David from Prometheus while also playing another but more advanced android named Walter. The film will center on the crew of the colony ship Covenant who find what they all believe is an unchartered planet but is, in fact, the one where the previous film took place on.

Viewers will also see Guy Pearce and Noomi Rapace in their original roles from the previous film as Peter Weyland and Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, respectively. Other known cast members are Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, and Danny McBride.

Fassbender has been quoted from a phone interview as saying that "It's much scarier than Prometheus..." In addition, Fassbender mentions it has more of the thriller, imminent-disaster feel that the original Alien film had.

Alien was able to successfully combine the science fiction and horror genre and was most probably the first movie of its kind. You basically have a riveting plot like Ten Little Indians but in outer space.

Alien had viewers at the edge of their seats with special FX that was state-of-the-art at the time and a thrilling and engaging plot with then unknown Sigourney Weaver in the lead. It had moviegoers screaming at every frightful scene and engaging the characters to watch out for the titular antagonist.

Fans of the original will enjoy frightful nostalgia with Alien: Covenant while younger generations will definitely appreciate its mysterious and ominous horror feel absent in most science fiction films. Alien: Covenant is scheduled to hit theaters on May 19, 2017.
