Samsung Will Release "Glossy Black" Galaxy S7 This Holiday Season To Keep Sales High

Having bid adieu to Galaxy Note 7 phones for good, Samsung was missing a flagship Android device to steal the show during the holiday season sale. Hence, the South Korean tech giant had come up with a plan to attract new customers during the holiday season by adding a new color variant to the Galaxy S7.

Apple had been offering the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus smartphones in matte black and jet black variants and Samsung saw that the colors received wider attraction in the market. Following the footsteps of its rival, Samsung came up with a "glossy black" variant to its Samsung galaxy S7, which is already available in matte "onyx black" color option.

Reports from Korean site The Investor has already spilled beans Samsung is planning on introducing a "glossy black" version of the Galaxy S7 sometime in December. With the release of the "glossy black" Samsung Galaxy S7, the company has ideated to ensure that its sales during the holiday season stay high even after the epic failure of Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung's strategy to add new colors to its nine-month-old flagship Android Samsung Galaxy S7 phones is not happening for the first time. The company earlier this month introduced "Coral Blue" variant in the flagship device and it has already proven to be an effective strategy to attract more demand for the handsets. It is notable that the coral blue option was initially planned as a Note 7 exclusive. Also, on an average, Samsung has been selling over 15,000 coral blue Galaxy S7 handsets in a day.

It is also a question of curiosity on how the company has planned to differentiate the Onyx black with the new Glossy black as the matte variant is already a bit glossy in the front and back, reports 9to5Google. Rumors suggest that Samsung will change the color of the always-grey metal frame to black to make its new glossy black Galaxy S7 stand out.
