The X-Files season 11 air date might be later than expected. Fans were assured by Fox that when the scheduling was right, they would pick up where things left off. The big question of whether or not 'the truth is out there' haven't been really answered after all these years.

While guesting at the Television Critics Association, Fox Television Group CEO Dana Walden said to reporters that season 11 of the X-Files might have a longer episode run. There seems to be no problem with the stars wanting to return to make the show again and it looks like plans are going smoothly to return to production.

Walden told TVLine previously that they could actually do more although she doesn't think it could be a full season. However, she'd be very happy if they could get down to at least eight to ten episodes. The whole trouble is finding the right time to fit into the stars' busy work schedules.

She said they wanted to do more in the first place but the limitations of Duchovny, Anderson and Carter made it difficult to do so. Gillian lives in the UK, David lives in California and New York, while Chris lives up north. The show is shot in Vancouver. So it's all about having the perfect coordination.

Season 11 Cast

There is no official announcement yet as to who will be included in the final cast. However, the reports coming out of the TCA gives indications that Fox is having conversations with Carter, Duchovny and Anderson regarding this matter. Past interviews showed all three parties were willing and happy to do more X-Files stories if not for their hectic schedules as cited by Den Of Geek.

As for the air date, we could only presume it's going to be late 2018 or early 2019. With the rate things are going, it's hard to tell when they could start filming unless the stars' schedules ease up a bit. Until then, fans will just have to patiently wait. For the meantime, reruns, anyone?
