NBA Season 2016-17: Will Toronto Raptors Be Able To Beat Cleveland Cavaliers Tonight?

By Shubham Ghosh | Update Date: Nov 15, 2016 07:20 AM EST

It will be the second meeting of the two in this NBA season with the Cleveland Cavaliers having won the first game 94-91 in Toronto on October 28. The top-ranked team in the Eastern Conference will certainly be the favorites against the Toronto Raptors in Tuesday's (Nov 15) game in the Quicken Loans Arena.

The Raptors, who have a 7-2 result till now as against the Cavs' 8-1, will look to continue with their winning streak. A key fight in the game will be between the Raptors' DeMarre Carroll and the Cavs' LeBron James. It will be interesting to see whether the Raptors' defensive specialist can throw a worthy challenge to James, considered the most dominant player in the league. The Cavs' Kevin Love will be another key attraction of the game.

The Raptors, however, are not very impressed with their testing schedule. They have back-to-back tough games against the Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors and that their coach Dwane Casey was not happy when he said: ""The computer that spit out the schedule, I'm going to find it and break it. Break the keys on it." according to The Star.

In terms of records, while the Raptors are second to Charlotte Hornets in least turnovers per game (11.3), the Cavs are second to Houston Rockets in three-pointers attempted in a game.

All eyes will also be on the Cavaliers' DeMarre DeRozan in this game for the man had 32 on 12-28 shooting the last game that they had won. Both teams have lost just one game since that match. Tuesday's game will hence be a battle for a psychological gain in the Eastern Conference. Particularly if the Raptors pull this one off, the contest will be wide open with both having an 8-2 record. The Atlanta Hawks are also having a 7-2 record at the moment.

But it will not be easy for the Raptors in the Quicken Loans Arena where they had lost to the Cavs the last time the two teams had met in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals in May. The result had gone 113-87 in favor of the Cavs.
