NBA Trade Rumors: Are Warriors Thinking Of Trading Klay Thompson Under Pressure Of Criticism?

By Shubham Ghosh | Update Date: Nov 11, 2016 07:30 AM EST

They haven't done badly after losing the opening game yet if NBA rumors are to be believed, the Golden State Warriors are thinking of trading out-of-form shooting guard Klay Thompson. One report said that he is not only doing badly in shooting from three-point range but also missing unguarded attempts.

If this Sportsrageous report is to be believed, the Warriors are considering to send the 26-year-old to the Boston Celtics, especially after the loss to the Los Angeles Laker last Friday (Nov 4).

Adrian Lawhorn of the Inquisitr believes the "strong overreaction" to any issue that the Warriors are facing is actually a dig at their image of "invincibility" by the critics who always bay for blood. Or why else the problems be still under the scanner despite the Warriors burying the shocking loss to the Lakers under three consecutive conviction wins against the Pelicans, Mavericks and Nuggets? Thompson was particularly good in the match against the Mavericks as he scored 18 of his 20 points to pave the foundation for victory at the Oracle Arena on Wednesday (Nov 9), said CSN Bay Area. The Warriors are now ranked second in the Western Conference with seven wins and two losses.

Yet a lot is being heard about a deal between the Warriors and Celtics. It is being rumored that besides Thompson, the Warriors would also send Patrick McCaw, another shooting guard, to the Celtics in lieu of the likes of shooting guard Avery Bradley and power forward Amir Johnson.

Though this trade deal would be legally okay under the NBA guidelines, but according to Lawhorn, this trade would see the Warriors weakening their shooting guard capacity both in terms of talent and depth.

Bradley is a good player but not as classy as Thompson, despite the latter's miscalculated shootings of late.

The Celtics, who have three wins and four losses at the moment and are ranked ninth in the Eastern Conference, won't be complaining much though.

The Warriors next take on the Suns on Sunday (Nov 13) while the Celtics' upcoming game is against the New York Knicks on Friday (Nov 11). After three losses on the trot, this is a game that Brad Stevens' boys will be desperate to win.
