Microsoft Surface Pro 5 To Receive Stiff Competition In 2017

Microsoft has released a number of devices in its October conference. Some of these include the Surface Studio and the Surface Book. The company stayed away from promoting the Surface Pro 5, and it has been rumored that the tablet PC would hit the market in early 2017. While many were upset that the tablet PC wasn't announced, people were left impressed with the Surface Studio and its capabilities in the world of design.

The company, however, will be getting a stiff competition from other manufacturers. Dell has already plans to release an all-in-one PC after the XPS 27 series and following suit are other manufacturers who plan to get some of the market share through their tech releases.

Among other rivals, Lenovo Mix 720 is also in the view. It is a 2-in-1 device and will be housing Intel's Kaby Lake architecture processors. The processors themselves will be coming in three variants: Core i3-7300U, i5-7200U and the Core i7-7500U.

Kaby Lake is the norm now, as the Surface Pro 5 is also expected to ship with the Kaby Lake processors, which will be available from December this year. The processor would be bringing a plethora of changes to the graphics support and Kaby Lake is rumored to be the reason why Microsoft is still holding onto the Surface Pro 5 before release.

The device would be featuring a 4K ultra HD panel with a massive 3860 x 2560 resolution LCD screen and an aspect ratio similar to the Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4. The device will also be coming with the Surface Pen which has been enhanced to keep in tune with the current gen hardware capabilities. The tablet PC is also rumored to be coming with a USB-C port and a fingerprint scanner for added security.

It also would run on Windows 10 Redstone 2 and would have a massive 16GB of RAM and two powerful cameras on the front and back.

Microsoft is yet to make any official statement about the Surface Pro 5. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
