Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Single ‘Dark Necessities’ From New Album ‘The Gateway’ Hits New Record

Red Hot Chili Peppers' first single titled "Dark Necessities" from their upcoming new album "The Gateway" has successfully made it to Billboard top 10 list in mere few days of its release.

Red Hot Chili Peppers' latest single ranks in the top 10 on all four radio-based rock charts, including at No. 1 on Rock Airplay, according to Billboard.

"Dark Necessities" also ranks in the top 10 on Alternative Songs chart, Mainstream Rock Songs chart and Adult Alternative Songs chart list. Cage the Elephant's "Come a Little Closer," which was released in 2013-14, was the last the song which made it to top 10 on all three charts.

Red Hot Chili Peppers' upcoming new album "The Getaway," which is slated for release on June 17, will be the band's 11th studio album and first since 2011's "I'm With You", reported Loudwire.

The recently released single "Dark Necessities" is a five-minute, mid-tempo number that features bassist Flea and Anthony Kiedis singing about how "everything must go away."

The new song is currently available for streaming on Spotify and Apple Music. "Dark Necessities" is also available as an instant download for those who pre-order "The Getaway." The album is available to pre-order in a number of options, including CD, vinyl and cassette, on the band's website, reported Rolling Stone.

The album has been produced by Danger Mouse and mixed by Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. The track list of Red Hot Chili Peppers new album includes "The Getaway," "Dark Necessities," "We Turn Red," "The Longest Wave," "Goodbye Angels," "Sick Love," "Go Robot," "Feasting on the Flowers," "Detroit," "This Ticonderoga," "Encore," "The Hunter" and "Dreams of a Samurai.

Red Hot Chili Peppers consists of vocalist Kiedis, bassist Flea, guitarist Josh Klinghoffer and drummer Chad Smith.
