OnePlus continues to enjoy the fruits of its OnePlus 2 though the focus of most right now is on what comes next. And if rumors coming out are true, a OnePlus 3 will indeed come out though customers will have choices.

Traditionally, only one flagship will be tasked to follow up on the success of a mobile device but according to a report by Gizmo China, there will not only be one but two variants scheduled to come out soon.

The difference between the two variants is that one will be a high-end device while the other will be a mid-range phone. Both will feature the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC though the mid-range model will offer 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.

The specs move up a bit with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage which obviously points to the high-end model. Other possible specs that the OnePlus 3 will likely include fast-charging technology (Dash Charge) with the price range speculated to be somewhere along the $310 mark for the mid-range segment. The high-end device could be priced somewhere around $329.

It should be noted that the alleged ‘Dash Charge’ is OnePlus’ own fast charging technology which somehow becomes a gray area since this would be the first time that the said technology would be used. It was not included in the OnePlus 2 when that flagship came out in the open.

Rumors also indicate that the OnePlus 3 could be officially announced on May 18 which is just a couple of weeks from now. If that should be the case, it would not be surprising if the OnePlus flagship officially goes on sale by June.

The specs were arrived at following a spotting over at Geekbench. Under the OnePlus A3000 RAIN RAIN model, the key specs and benchmark scores were behind the believed specs. Worth noting as well was that the spotted device ran on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow which should complement the device handily with the said specifications.

Benchmark tests show that in the single-core test, the OnePlus A3000 does a fine job of scoring 2266 points. The multi-core test score was a bit less impressive though much of it was believed to be tied up with the limited quad-core design.
