Food lovers around the world will certainly look for dishes from any descent that can fully satisfy their taste buds. Though the composition of the dishes may include unusual herbs or components, the bottom line is that one will never know how good (or bad) it would be until they try it.

But is satisfying the taste buds all that matters when it comes to trying out global recipes? There is also that angle of determining the health returns from such and there are dishes that fall under such.

For those who haven’t tried it out yet, Vietnamese dishes have been known to carry health benefits, partly because they are gluten-free and packed with vitamins and minerals. With that in mind, Vietnamese dishes could be a great alternative for the weight-watchers and the ones looking for a different kind of dish that can provide added boost to their immune system.

The type of Vietnamese dishes that one can try seems to be never-ending. But in most of them, some part of the human body will benefit. That includes the skin, hair, one’s blood and improve digestion. With the health benefits detailed, the next best step is to find out which dishes one must try.

  1. Banh Cuon. These are steamed rice-cake dishes that should be interesting to try out. They are soft and delicate that are made up of minced mushroom and pork capped with a nuoc cham sauce.
  2. Pho. For the ones who love to consume noodle soup, Pho is one thing you must try. The name itself stands for rice noodles and is usually served with beef or chicken, bean sprouts, lime wedges, leafy greens and veggies where the overall taste can be adjusted according to one’s taste buds.
  3. Bun Cha. If rice is not your thing then maybe some vermicelli noodles paired with some grilled pork sausages will interest you. It seems like a traditional meal in itself, partnered with herbs, bean sprouts, pickled veggies, and nuoc cham sauce.
  4. Goi Cuon. Do you love spring rolls? Well the Goi Cuon are salad rolls that could be made for you. They are translucent rolls that pack together the greens and herbs together with shrimp or pork depending on one’s wishes. These Vietnamese spring rolls vary over in Hanoi which are good with that curious sauce, nuoc cham.
  5. Ca Kho To. For the healthy eaters who are looking for some kind of fish to consume, Ca Kho To is the one for you. Offered in claypots, the fish gets it sweet and savory taste through the combination of sugar and fish sauce. Perfect with some rice or noodles on the side.
  6. Banh Xeo. Pancakes are also offered Vietnamese style only that they come with twist. The batter is made though the mixture of rice flour, coconut milk, and turmeric and eventually fried alongside pork, shrimp, and bean sprouts.

The list of course goes on and on and for people who want to try it, heading over to that nearest Vietnamese restaurant could be a good idea.
