How To Eat Delicious Food Healthily?

Usually healthy food is the choice of mind while tasty food is the choice of senses. True, it is not fair to satisfy one and ignore the other since health is to live and taste is for happiness. Therefore it becomes essential to eat nutritious food deliciously for living happily.

First thing to do is to swap bread made of all-purpose flour to whole grain bread or wheat bread whenever possible. Wheat bread might not taste good to eat with butter but when they are used while making sandwiches the stuffing and the spices added would mask the taste of the bread. So don't hesitate to use whole grain or wheat bread while preparing sandwiches, no matter whether it is vegetable or meat stuffing.

And, how about a healthy waffle in place of the usual one we eat every day? Yes, here you go. Take a cup of whole-wheat flour and half a cup of quick-cooking oats and mix them together. To the above mixture add two teaspoons of baking powder, one teaspoon of sugar and quarter cup of chopped unsalted pecans.

Mix two egg yolks, one and a half cup of skimmed milk and one tablespoon of vegetable oil separately in a bowl and then pour it into the flour mixture. The batter is then mixed to be a bit lumpy, make sure not to over-mix it. Pour the batter into the preheated waffle tray and wait till it turns light brown. The waffle becomes much crispier as it cools down.

Use fresh fruits like strawberries, blueberries and blackberries for topping. If only frozen berries are available feel free to use fresh fruits of your choice or whatever is available, because fresh ones are healthier than the frozen one and so is the taste.

Make it a point to include all kinds of nutritious food groups in diet; fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, legumes, dairy, vegetable oil, fish and poultry, wherever possible. Different types of oil like peanut, canola, corn, safflower, olive, sunflower and soybean are recommended to be good for health in 2015 Dietary Guidelines For Americans. So for both health and taste purpose, switch from one variety of oil to another every time you buy provisions.
