The most anticipated and long awaited Model X electric SUV by Tesla has finally been announced and the base price is said to $80,000. Even though the price appears too much but the industry experts had already anticipated its price in six figures when it made a debut in September. Co-founder and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, said that during the car's unvealing that Model X will be priced $5000 more than the Model S electric sedan and that put the crossover new model just at the right price point of $80,000. The base price is calculated before adding the delivery charges as well as the state and federal taxes, reports M Live.

According to Tesla, their Model X is one of the safest and undeniably fastest SUV that have ever been made. The performance model, known as the P90D, can race from 0-60 miles in less than 4-seconds. It can achieve a top speed of 155 mph and comes equipped with 90 kWh battery that has a driving range of 250 miles. The base model, 70D has a driving range of 220 miles and comes with a 70 kWh battery going from 0-60 miles in less than 6 seconds. The Model X's horsepower is 259 and can effortlessly tow about 5,000 pounds. The most striking feature of this car, apart from being an all-electric crossover, is the falcon-wing doors, says USA Today.

Tesla named the doors as Falcon wings because of the hinges that lets the door tweak itself to various situations. The doors also have a sensor inbuilt so as to open just the right amount vertically without bumping into other cars or garage doors nearby. The delivery of Model X will begin sometime in 2016, as reported by Ars Technica.
